The wallet is made of polymer clay except the elastic band for the clasp, the ribbon "binding," and the interior (which is made of paper). The image I printed onto a thin sheet of cooked polymer clay on my inkjet printer. The elastic band is in the "open" position in the photo. In the "closed" position it would be wrapped around the clay bamboo.

| Bamboo Orange Wallet | ![]() |
The orange cover is accented with oriental text highlighted with black pearl-ex powder. The bamboo overlay was created with a rubber stamp on green clay and darkened with black accents. The purple clasp is molded from a large bead. The interior fabric is a gorgeous koi print with purple flowers.

The cover was created by baking a 1mm sheet of white polymer clay then printing the image onto the clay view an ink-jet printer. This thin sheet of clay was then layered onto a thicker sheet of baked polymer clay and a gold trim was placed along the edges to disguise the join. The interior paper is a print of da Vinci's Vitruvian Man. If you look closely at the front cover, you can see tiny divets where I dabbed a protective coat of translucent liquid clay on with my finger. The slight texture this created reminds me a bit of oil paintings. This wallet took third place in the September 2008 Polymer Clay Central Challenge.
